Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4.0 Easy, versatile, and fun!

“I wanted to get started with digital scrapbooking, but most websites I read focused on Photoshop Elements, and purchasing digital paper and elements individually. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to spend that kind of money and time, so I decided to offer Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4.0 a try. I have been using this software for several months now, and I love it! It is included with lots of ready-made templates, which really are completed layouts–just add pictures. The templates are fully editable, though, to help you still add, delete, resize, or move any element or picture. You may also start from scratch, and build your page using the big variety of backrounds and elements they provide. If you are not satisfied with their offerings, you should use any papers or elements that you can find on various websites–the program recognizes most regular file types (along the lines of .jpg, .gif, and .png). Though some of the provided graphics are typical clipart, and not likely what most scrappers would use, they still offer several backgrounds and embellishments which are wonderful. (And contrary to a different reviewer, you CAN change the colour–right click the item, choose “edit photo”, then the “adjust color” tab.) The software also is included with a reasonably good user’s manual–that seems rare for software these days! Very useful for getting an idea of all of the various things you can do with this software. You may also save completed pages as a .jpg or .pdf file for printing or to give to other people.

There are a few things I’d prefer to see improved. 1. I’d like a better tool for locating and importing the photos. 2. I’d like more templates inside landscape format. 3. I’d sort of a viewer that might show 2 pages side-by-side.

**Important Note** Read the system requirements carefully! The whole program gets loaded onto the hard disk drive, and takes over 3 Gbytes. It is also a resource-hog when running; if your computer is too old, you’ll NOT have fun attempting to run it!
All in all, Scrapbook Factory Deluxe 4.0 is easy to understand and use. It provides as often or as little control over the layout since you want. And with all of the various graphics which are included, it’s a fantastic bargain! ”

“I had a previous version of this software and adore the improvements they made to this version. However, a number of the photographs continue to be very lame. I wish that they had a free downloadable website for more pictures or allowed you to edit their pics. Besides that, I such as search they’ve now when you are looking for a particular pic – for example, it is possible to just type in “dog” and it’ll show you all of the dogs.

I also like that you can save as pdfs to help you share with others that don’t have the software.

Overall, I like the product for what I’m using it for. ”

“I was very surprised by the performance of this lightweight drill. I historically buy high-end cordless drills, but when my Makita 12V batteries wouldn’t hold a charge, I decided to buy something less expensive. I’ve only owned this for 3 months and it hasn’t let me down. I almost always use a quick-change driver in the chuck so I’ve never seen the chuck slip (as another reviewer mentioned). I wish a carrying case and/or extra battery was included but I’ll survive without it. My only gripe is that the trigger is somewhat sensitive and it’s difficult to maintain a constant slow speed (i.e. driving small screws). Great torque at high speed, though. You could buy 2 or 3 of these for the price of a high-end drill. For the money, this is a great product.”

“Hello just received this drill today got it on sale at Amazon since my purchase the price has gone up 20 dollars, don’t think I would have paid that much. Well my first impression of this drill was that it reminded me of a toy I don’t know maybe it’s the bright orange color, just kind of reminds me of a Tonka toy for some reason. I haven’t done any serious drilling yet but when I first picked it up I noticed that the grip at least for my hands is a tad small, noting serious but it could be a little larger my hands feel just a little confined between the top of the drill and the bottom where the battery insets so that’s why the 4 stars. So if you have really large hands this may not be a comfortable fit for you. What I do like is the weight it’s light as a feather and the charger is really nice and apparently has a chip that allows you to leave the battery in the charger indefinitely without over charging according to the instructions. Although at three hours per charge it’s a little long especially when compared to my 18 volt Makita which only takes 30 minutes!! So I thought I would buy this so that I wouldn’t have to use my expensive Makita LXT for quick small jobs. After I do more extensive testing I will comment further. “

Perplexus Maze Game by PlaSmart This toy is great for all ages! My 3 year old is surprisingly VERY interested in it and it’s so fun to watch him concentrate! He can easily get all the way past #25 and is getting better every time he plays with it. My husband will sit down with it for easily an hour (unusual for him) to try and conquer the maze. My favorite things about it: 1-when the kids are playing it they are concentrating SO hard that they are quiet and engaged for a LONG time. 2-no batteries required. 3-no annoying noises. 4-anybody can play. It’s PERFECT for Doctor visits (who likes to wait at the dr’s office with nothing to do?), trips in the car, and just hanging out at home! We keep one in the car (for trips AND when we are somewhere like an event that not everyone is interested in watching) and one at home.

A built-in shelf at the top of the wall-mounted base holds shampoo, soap, or other bath products, while additional toys and sponges can be hung from the amphibian’s 14 splayed toes. A feature that parents can appreciate: the hard plastic is mildew-resistant.

The base can be mounted on any bathroom wall one of three ways: adhesive strips, suction cups, or screws. One set of adhesive strips is included with the Frog Pod, but these are not reusable. Syma S107 Micro Controlled Helicopter I am not a Heli expert but can say I have owned an Electric Falcon with Auto Pilot ($250-350), a Coco Lama (great heli $75) and the first micro heli($19). The s107 is fun and VERY stable, you really can’t ask for more, it will go back and forward very easily, it would literally be a work of engineering at this price if it had better turning. Let me explain- it vertical controls are quick and presice, it goes up and down very easy and with power, it turns to the right or left by a light touch. What it is lacking is horizontal yaw. But guess what it’s a toy and so cheap that I must say outside of this it’s a blast! I love my Coco Lama, its bigger and worth every penny, yet this micro is sturdy and has great controls, it’s a steal for 30-35 total, its built very well and strong, I truly believe its going to be around a long time and if not the parts are cheap. I truly believe it could go for $70-100 so it’s the best bang for the buck! I hear there is a walker out there that is great but its $100. I question how much better and fully applaud Syma and Xheli for making it cheap. I also feel it’s a great learner heli, oh yes. You get this thing down when you step up will have the basics down. BUY it! For this price it’s a 5 You will not be wasting money its worth every penny!

Confront the Separatist Crisis
Drawing from the wealth of Star Wars lore, the Clone Wars are part of a back-story of intragalactic unrest that set the stage for the original trilogy. They are portrayed in a new animated movie, TV series, and video game, which help fill in gaps that appear between the other movies. With this set, you can be part of the action. Take up the battle against the Separatists using the Republic Attack Gunship, a heavily armed and armored Clone Wars troop carrier that’s ready to invade even the most hostile terrain.

Included Lego figures represent the well-known characters Obi-Wan Kenobi, Plo Koon, Asajj Ventress, and Commander Cody. Of course, there’s Clone Trooper mini-figures as well. There’s a cool speeder bike that deploys from the back, and multiple decals to create different gunships for your army. Arm your favorite figure with a lightsaber in Jedi blue-green or Sith red, and let the intragalactic battles begin. There’s even a healing chamber that helps your characters recharge after a tough battle.

Preparing Your Gunship for Battle
With 1,034 pieces in 18 bags and two instruction booklets, the Republic Attack Gunship took our eight-year-old tester just under eight hours to build. He broke the construction up into three shorter sessions to make it more enjoyable and had only one slight difficulty. While Lego instructions are known for being colorful and accurate, there were a handful of pieces in our booklet that appeared clear when they were in fact yellow. This didn’t do anything to diminish our appreciation for this model. Our tester struggled to find anything negative to say, and he gave this ship a fun factor score of one million, based on a scale of one to 10!

Cockpits in unexpected locations on the wings, unique sliding doors, the zoomer buggy, and an emergency capsule for sick and injured characters ranked high on the list of cool features. That’s not all though. There’s also a front side compartment that opens so you can remove the command station, eight positionable flick-fire missiles on top, two rotating missiles in front, and a top compartment which opens to provide access to the spy droids.

When asked if there was a downside to this gunship, our tester could only reply, “It’s the best ever! I just like the whole set.” Soon after completing construction, he had a big battle with all the ships in his collection and commented on how this set includes updated pieces that he’s never seen before.

Even though there’s plenty of features on just the Republic Attack Gunship to hold a child’s interest for a long time, we can imagine how much fun the set would be with a whole group of friends and siblings plus all their Star Wars ships. We also appreciate the way that Lego systems never limit imaginative play. All the cool hardware that makes up the Republic Attack Gunship can be used to build any structure or vehicle your child dreams up.
